OG Fall Inspired Drink


*Sigh* Fall…my most favorite time of the year.

I’m talking all things pumpkin, apple, spice, leggings, boot socks, flannel, vests, obnoxious scarves, boots, football, and the most delicious baked goods…made from pumpkins and apples.

Every year I insist on creating the perfect fall day, usually near the end of October (I’m an October baby), and though it is always pleasant and very much appreciated, it always seems a bit forced. This year, all that changed.


We started the day with the Dane County Farmer’s Market (arguably the best Farmer’s Market in the whole damn world), which offered us delightful cheese curds, the best kale, and some pesto chevre croissants. Next, we visited the new location of Ancora Coffee Roasters on King St., where we sipped on Pumpkin Chai Zombies and shared a honey glazed goat cheese, cheddar, and chive scone on our walk home. Once home we decided, what the hell, why not visit our friend at Door Creek Orchard (our friend works at an amazing apple orchard, no big deal)?! So, we headed to the next town over where we loaded up on the most perfect looking apples, apple pie spice, and apple cider so good it’s crazy. We also got some cider tapped straight from the source, so that’s pretty rad.


On the way home, we picked up some bourbon (Bulleit of course) and ginger beer so we could make our first OG Fall Inspired Drink of the season.

…damn is this shit good. Seriously. Wow. So good.

It straight up puts you in the fall mood first sip. BAM! All of a sudden you are surrounded by gorgeous red/orange/yellow leaves, you’re wearing flannel and boot socks, and the scarf around your neck is so obnoxiously huge it’s borderline illegal.

Welcome to my most favorite time of year, with one of the best drinks in hand.




OG Fall Inspired Drink

  • Servings: 1

  • 1 1/2 – 2 oz. Bourbon (We like Bulleit Bourbon)
  • 3 oz. Apple Cider
  • Ginger Beer (The Spicier the Better)


  1. Put ice, bourbon, and apple cider in cocktail shaker. Shake the shit out of it.
  2. Pour into ice filled rocks glass. Top with ginger beer (keep as a floater, or mix).
  3. Micro-plane whole nutmeg over top and add a thin apple slice for aesthetic appeal
  4. Enjoy!
